A REVIEW OF A TAOIST WAY OF LIFE
writtern by Paul Brecher,
I found Paul Brecher's book a fascination description of his travels in search of more understanding of the Chineses Internal Martial Arts and the Taoist way of Life. The first half of the book depicts his experiences travelling, training in the Martial arts and experiences learning various meditation techniques. The second half shows various meditation techniques and philosophy. Throughout the book is beautifully illustrated.
This is not a cheap book but well worth a read for those seeking a better understanding. or looking to improve lifestyle

Recipe of the Day - Kosher Halal diced chicken stir fry

My wife was so enthusiastic about the main dish i cooked tonight she suggested I keep a record. I often lose bits of paper so I thought the best thing is to keep a record of it on my blog and perhaps others can use it to impress their partners. So here goes;
Purchase a tub of Halal diced chicken. You don't have to go to a Halal butcher I purchased mine in Tesco!
At home I do what I call 'kosher' the Halal chicken. I pour boiling water into a bowl add salt. While it's 'Koshering' I chop up two large onions and start frying them in a pan. I prepare a wok with a some oil add the diced chicken start to fry. Thinly chop up some courgettes, brocolli, olives and . pour on some sweet chilli dipping sauce (from Marks and Spencers). Mix in a bowl some oil and add the following spices; Smoked paprika, Garlic dip mix (which contains dry whey, garlic and other spices. It comes in a powder form, Gyros seasoning, Sprinkle it on and add more gyros seasoning. I purchased quite a few of my spices from a shop called Tiger, Tiger in North Finchley. Add the fried onions that were cooking in a separate frying pan.
Stir until well cooked.
I also prepared some salad and brocolli as accompanyments.
One might ask why Halal I think the meat is very good

Thought for the day

Last saturday I did my best to console a man who had lost his daughter. It must have been helpful as he put his hand on my shoulder. A few hours later I was just turning into my road carrying some shopping. At the same time a local Rabbi was crossing the road with his wife. It looked as if they were looking with disapproval.
Which is more important spiritually to keep some outdated laws or console a man in his grief.
