Shaw Trust Horticulture Clamp Hill was established in 1989 and is a social enterprise training and alternative to day care programme. It delivers a plethora of activities for adults with learning difficulties and people who are within the autistic spectrum.
The activities carried out at Clamp Hill include maintaining our seven acre site in Stanmore and our three acre allotment site in Harrow.
We have nine staff in total and at any one time we have 30 clients on all sites each day. Our contracts include working with seven different London-wide social service departments to support people with disabilities to gain independence, to travel to enhance their life skills and to be part of the local community. We also work with NHS private care homes and two Jewish charities.
We are a registered City and Guilds centre therefore we deliver accredited training to all our clients so that they can be recognised for the skills they learn.
Our nursery and therapeutic garden sells plants and products to the public and provides activities for up to 20 clients. The activities we carry out in the plant nursery give meaningful work experience and training to a range of people.  We also grow vegetables practicing organic methods. This year we became the local food lead in Harrow and are part of an exciting programme run by Capital Growth to enhance food production in London.
